Kangna recommended TANU WEDS MANU title
TANU WEDS MANU will see the fresh pairing of Kangna Ranaut and R Madhavan. However, a little known fact is that TANU WEDS MANU was earlier titled MANU WEDS TANU.
The director, Anand Rai felt the title MANU WEDS TANU was appropriate and was even gung-ho about it. However, Kangna who plays the character of Tanu in the film insisted that the title should be TANU WEDS MANU and not MANU WEDS TANU as the tale and narrative unfolds from Tanu's point of view.
The director was highly flummoxed by this suggestion, he did not know how to handle it.
However, he was in for a surprise, when he approached Kangna for a reason, she had a very simple one. She felt that her character, Tanu which is a small town, wild girl, is the one in the commanding position throughout the film, and Madhavan's character Manu is shown as a simple, NRI boy. So TANU WEDS MANU shows Tanu as the one in the commanding position, and MANU WEDS TANU as the title seemed a little off.
