Arya, Anushka and Tamannah will become Kalaiamamanis from February 13, when Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi would present them the awards at a colourful function at Valluvar Kottam in Chennai.
Circles close to Arya said that the actor was excited to know Friday night that he was selected for the coveted honour. “He was happy on hearing the good news. His friends have been asking him to throw a party,” they say.
A source close to Tamannah said she never expected such a great honour. “When we explained her the value of Kalaimamani award, she felt extremely happy. She is thankful to all those who are supporting her.”
And Anushka, the ‘Ragada’ and ‘Nagavalli’ heroine, felt Kalaimamani as one of the greatest honours she had received so far. “Since it is presented by the Tamil Nadu government, she knows the importance of Kalaimamani,” sources say.
